The Advisory Committee of the Office of LGBT Affairs makes recommendations to the Office and the Mayor. Appointments to the committee are made to ensure that there is a knowledge base on a wide variety of issues facing the LGBT community and that there is representation from the full spectrum of groups and constituencies in the community. Members of the LGBT Advisory Committee serve as direct advisors to the Director of the Office of LGBT Affairs and accomplish their work through a set of issue-based sub-committees.
